Care labels exist to protect your clothes, but the symbols can be confusing. Here is the short version.
Dry clean only
A circle on the label means the garment is meant for professional cleaning. Tailored suits, blazers, silk, wool and most formal wear fall into this group.
Machine washable
A tub symbol with a number shows the maximum wash temperature. Cotton shirts, T-shirts, uniforms, towels and bedsheets are usually fine in the wash.
When in doubt
If the label is missing or faded, check the fabric. Delicate fabrics and structured garments are safer dry cleaned. You can also message us a photo and we will suggest the right option.
